It sounds too good to be true - reducing or eliminating Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs), PMS, or hot flashes by making dietary changes.
But yes, we can use food to help with common women's health issues. UTIs are caused by the E.coli bacteria in 90% of cases, and we can use food to strengthen our immune system and prevent UTIs.
Other common concerns such as hot flashes and PMS can also be helped by dietary changes. Hot flashes impact our hypothalamus, our body's temperature control center when our levels of estrogen drop erratically. PMS can show up in as many as four different symptom patterns, and each is due to an imbalance of our estrogen and progesterone levels. By taking a detailed health history and using other diagnostic tools, I can understand which hormone balance is at play, and make dietary, supplement or herbal recommendations to support physician diagnoses and treatment plans.
